1971 Dana Point Harbor opens

1997 The Dana Point Harbor Concept Plan is continually refined, based on input from merchants, boat owners, homeowners and other key community leaders

Refined plan is introduced to general public for continued refinement

2003 The refined concept plan, which reflects the Task Force's original Plan Priorities as well as the input of today's community leaders and residents, will be presented to the Orange County Board of Supervisors for approval

County will develop a Dana Point Harbor Master Plan

The plan will undergo final design

Project Dimensions, Inc. has been selected by the Board of Supervisors to oversee the revitalization master plan as the contract administrator and project manager

RBF Consulting begins developing the Environmental Impact Report for the project

A.C. Martin, Inc. has been selected as the Architectural / Engineering firm to complete the design, permitting and construction of the Dana Point Harbor concept master plan for revitalization

2005 Draft Environmental Impact Report ready for public review

Orange County Planning Commission recommends certification of the Environmental Impact Report

2006 Orange County Board of Supervisors certifies the Environmental Impact Report and approves the Revitalization Plan

City of Dana Point approves the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Plan and District Regulations

Submitted Local Coastal Program Amendment to the California Coastal Commission

Launch ramp renovation begins

2007 Process the Local Costal Program Amendment with the California Coastal Commission

Prepare Subsequent Environmental Impact Report (SEIR) for Marina Improvement Project

Launch Ramp renovation completed on time and on budget

2008 Process a Coastal Development Permit for the Commercial Core Improvement Project

Certify the SEIR for the Marina Improvement Project

Commercial Core construction scheduled to begin

Harbor dredging scheduled to begin

Submit and process Marina Improvement Project application to the California Coastal Commission

Marina Improvement Project construction scheduled to begin
